ENERGY CONSERVING TECHNOLOGY

Save $44,000 in Energy Costs

with our 1,710 SF CANOPUS design.

We apply conservation methods with an affordable and cost-justified approach.

Here’s how: A full 90% of energy savings opportunities occur within the first 20% of the design process.  Today’s most successful energy conserving structures must be viewed as a complete system of integration between design conserving approaches, function, today’s building technologies, and materials that complement our energy conserving goals.  Further, with our “ground up” design approach to benefit energy conservation, overall building costs to achieve these results are cost justified and very affordable.

The bar graph depicts first-year ANNUAL energy costs for the same plan but constructed with three different methods.  Over the years, the annual savings can be really mind-boggling.  Our 1,710 SF CANOPUS energy conserving technology can save you over $29,000.00 in energy costs when compared to the same plan when just converting to SIP usage alone and a WHOPPING $44,000.00 when compared to building with traditional stick construction.  (Energy savings listed above are projected through a 30 year cycle.)

WHAT TO AVOID

We are often provided with a set of basic plans and asked to change out the wall and roof system to Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs).  Switching out to a more energy efficient product at the last minute in the building cycle just leaves out too many potential energy savings opportunities.  Without question, using SIPs will help to conserve energy, but SIPs are the proverbial tip of the iceberg – just a small part of a great energy conserving design potential.
